“When lives become forms: dialogue with the future – Brazil/Japan”, curated by Yuko Hasegawa from the Museum of Contemporary Art Tokyo (MOT).

The show marked MAM-SP’s contribution to the commemorations of the Japanese Immigration Centennial in Brazil and covered a range of aspects, including architecture, art, fashion and design. 140 works by 21 Brazilian and 18 Japanese artists, ranging from the technological to the vernacular, revealed close interrelations despite coming from such different cultural backgrounds.

The dress, originally produced for a photo essay shot at a landfill dump in Rio de Janeiro, was reproduced especially for the exhibition.
